We fulfill God's purpose for his church by focusing our attention on the priorities He has laid out for us in the Bible. We find four central priorities that God calls every Christian and every church to focus upon: Worshipping Together, Equipping the Saints, Fellowshipping with One Another, and Engaging Our World.
Our Sunday morning gathering is our primary gathering where we joyfully, and eagerly carry out our corporate responsibilities toward each other and before the Lord. It is here where we encourage one another and praise Christ in song, pray together as a body, contribute to the church’s work, exhort one another through the preaching of God’s word, and individually and corporately respond to God’s truth. - See more HERE.
Equipping Classes are small group Bible studies that meet Sunday mornings at 9 am and are arranged according to subject, designed to prepare people to know Christ more fully, and serve Him faithfully. These classes also serve to prepare and train the body of Summit Woods for personal growth and ministry.

Growth Groups are smaller gatherings of church members, meeting across the Kansas City metro area. These groups are one of the chief ways we seek to build closer relationships with people in the body of Summit Woods. With groups meeting at least twice each month, our goals are to connect members with what was preached in our corporate gathering on Sunday morning, find ways to specifically care for each other, and strengthen ways we can serve our church and our community with the gospel. Children and students are encouraged to participate. Life groups meet the first and third Sunday evening of the month. The recommended timeframe is 5 to 7pm, but times are at the discretion of each group.

Our men's and women's mid-week Bible studies meet together Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm for a brief teaching time before breaking into men's and women's discussion and prayer groups over our study. Books for the study are available in the resource room or in the office.
Ironmen men's ministry exists to provide unique opportunities for discipleship and service to the men of Summit Woods Baptist Church. We want to serve men in helping them to become faithful husbands, fathers, leaders, and individuals. Look for special events throughout the year on our calendar.

- We believe that the inerrant word of God is sufficient for all the spiritual needs of the individual in matters of godliness, 2 Peter 1:3.
- We believe that the word of God is able to change people, 2 Tim. 3:16-17.
- We believe that as Christians we are called to holiness and obedience, 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 John 2:3.
- Because of the fall of man Gen. 3 he is in need of the word and the work of God, Col. 3:16, John 3:3.
- We believe our Savior is the example. He freely gave away the word of life to those in need.
