Opportunities to Help
Friday, October 16th, 2009
Teachers and workers are needed in the Children’s Ministry. They need teachers and workers in Preschool Church (for 5th Sundays) and three Children’s Church teachers. Remember couples are always welcome.
Volunteers are needed to help transcribe the Sunday morning service for a hearing-impaired member. This is a rotating position on approximately a monthly basis. If you have strong keyboarding skills, sign the Friendship Pad or contact Kandy Jackson in the office.
We continue to collect empty printer/copier cartridges for recycling; and used/empty pill bottles for the mission to use when dispensing medicines; and used eyeglasses too! Place your donations in the collection boxes marked Haiti Donations in the Fellowship Hall.
We need people to bake cookies for our Cookie Ministry/Visitation Gift Bags. If you could help bake 4-6 dozen chocolate chip cookies every 4 6 weeks please contact the church office for information. Supplies are furnished and can be done at home.
Skeins of yarn have been donated for use in knitting hats for many different agencies. We have sent hats to Childrens Mercy, American Red Cross, Rachel House, and the VA Nursing Home in Warrensburg. We have also sent hundreds of hats to Romania, Iraq and Afghanistan. We have enough yarn to make a lot of hats but need volunteers to make them. We can teach a group or even an individual. If you or your group or class are interested in learning to knit using these round looms, please contact Peggy Hotz at 623-3293.
Women’s Studies
Monday, August 31st, 2009
Our winter Bible study will begin on Wednesday, January 6th with an in-depth look at Galatians. There are no books to purchase. Please come and join us in the sanctuary each Wednesday night at 6:30, as we study Gods Word.
On Tuesday mornings our women are studying Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God by Francis Chan. This book speaks to Gods profound love of His children and our response to that love. Books will be available for $10 or can be purchased from local stores, or online. If you are new to the Tuesday morning study and would like to be a part of either book study, please sign the Friendship Pad and reserve childcare and books.
Our ladies encourage you to join them from 9:00-11:00am for a great morning of study, prayer and fellowship. The study will resume on Tuesday, January 5th.
Contact Kandy for childcare.

With this challenge before us, our men will begin a study of Prayers in the New Testament on Wednesday, December 2nd. Our aim is to become more biblical in our personal and corporate praying. Guide questions will be distributed to assist in personal preparation. Several study leaders will participate in the sessions. Please plan now to be a part of this very important study in the life of our church at this time.
The Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, January 6th and Friday, January 8th.
