Evangelism and Discipleship
The Evangelism and Discipleship ministries of Summit Woods Baptist Church exist to help believers fulfill Christ’s Great Commission (Matt. 28: 18-20). Christ has enabled us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to proclaim His good news to the world, and has called on the body to walk with one another for the purpose of discipleship. Each arm of this ministry provides opportunities for the body of Christ, the church, to be equipped and sent for this task.
Save the Perishing
Our street evangelism team would like to invite you to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost on the streets of Kansas City. The team distributes tracts and engages in One to One conversations using the Law to the proud and Grace to the humble, as seen in scripture. The team goes out most weekends to places like the ‘Power and Light’ district, downtown Kansas City, Sprint Center, and various events around town. They also provide evangelism training. Door to Door Witnessing
With a heart for our local community, this group meets on Saturday mornings to seek out the spiritual and physical needs of those in Lee’s Summit. Each visit provides unique opportunities to pray, witness, and encourage the city through prayer and the gospel. Please see the calendar of events below for a scheduled Saturday. Cookie Visits
We strive to personally thank each visitor of SWBC by bringing cookies, answering questions about the church, praying for their concerns, and seeking opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ. If you are interested in joining this ministry please contact your outreach coordinator for your Adult Bible Fellowship class or the church office.
