2012 Equipping Classes

Equipping Classes are small group Bible studies arranged according to subject, designed to prepare people to know Christ more fully, and serve Him faithfully.

A new slate of classes will be starting on Sunday, January 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The classes are arranged around 6 different categories:

  • Foundations: for those investigating Christianity and SWBC.
  • Fundamentals: for new Christians and those needing the basics of Christian belief and life.
  • Bible Overview: a review of the themes, structure, and major applications of the books of the Old & New Testaments.
  • Bible Book Studies: Ongoing and significant studies through particular biblical books.
  • Theology: studies to deepen your knowledge and use of major biblical themes.
  • Christian Living: helping you to grow in the application of Scripture to the details of life.

The specific classes starting January 8, 9:00 a.m. are:

  • Discovery – for those wanting more information about Summit Woods and church membership.
  • Fundamentals of the Faith – a 13-week overview of the major doctrines and beliefs of Christianity.
  • Bible Overview – Big Picture studies of Old Testament books
  • Old Testament Books Studies – significant studies of various Old Testament books.
  • New Testament Book Studies – significant studies of various New Testament books.
  • Why the Bible is Reliable – a theological study on the doctrine of Scripture.
  • Essentials of Biblical Marriage – what Scripture teaches about marriage and how to honor Christ in it.
  • General Christian Living – ongoing studies through the Old Testament books of Numbers and Deuteronomy with special attention given to life application.

Beginning this Sunday and through the end of the month (December 4), those in existing Adult Bible Fellowship classes will have the opportunity in class to sign up for the classes of their choosing. Please consult the brochure that will be handed out in class to see the teachers and room assignments for each class.

You can also visit the table in the Foyer to sign up for a class, speak with someone specifically about the classes, and pick up a brochure about our Equipping Classes.
